Barr Invites America’s Credit Unions To Testify At March 5 House Hearing On Fraud

WASHINGTON--House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions Chairman Andy Barr (R-KY) has invited America's Credit Unions to testify at the subcommittee's hearing focused on fighting fraud March 5, ACU reported.

The hearing coincides with the Governmental Affairs Conference.

A credit union representative will testify on behalf of the association and its members to share how the credit union industry works to protect members from fraud and provide policy recommendations, ACU said.

"Fraud is surging and it costs American consumers billions of dollars each year. A collaborative approach to address fraud across all sectors is needed to protect credit unions and the consumers they serve against increased data security threats and attacks. America's Credit Unions consistently advocates for lawmakers and regulators to provide clear, tailored guidance, regulatory changes, and legislation that allows financial institutions to combat financial fraud." the trade assocaition said.
