NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.–The $15.6-billion BECU has opened its first locations outside of Washington State. The credit union has now opened two small branches on Boeing’s manufacturing site here.
“Similar to the facilities we have in the Boeing Everett and Renton plants, we have one full-service Financial Center in a secure location inside the North Charleston plant, and one in the plant’s Welcome Center,” the credit union said in a statement.
BECU, which has served Boeing employees for 80 years, had already been operating ATMs on the South Carolina site.
In its statement, BECU said the move does not reflect a change to its charter of FOM, and that there will be no BECU facilities or ATMs away from the manufacturing campus. Membership is also not open to the general public in South Carolina.
