WASHINGTON–The Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection (BCFP) has announced the new members of its reconstituted Credit Union Advisory Council, as well as the members of two newly
reformed Councils made up of banking industry representatives.
As CUToday.info reported here, the Bureau has moved to shrink all of its Councils, which it also said will meet less frequently than in the past. The Councils are mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act that created the Bureau.
Named as members of the Credit Union Advisory Council were:
- Arlene Babwah, Vice President Risk Management, Coastal FCU
- Sean Cahill, President & CEO, Southwest 66 Credit Union
- Teresa Campbell, President & CEO, San Diego County Credit Union
- Christopher Court, Vice President, Accounting & Operations, Service 1st FCU
- James Hunsanger, Chief Risk Officer, Michigan State University FCU
- Bryan Price, President & CEO, Indiana University Credit Union
- Eric Schmidt, President & CEO, WestStar Credit Union
“Today, I am appointing experts to the Bureau’s advisory committees who will bring a fresh perspective to our important work,” said BCFP Acting Director Mick Mulvaney. “These experts are highly talented individuals in consumer finance markets, and we look forward to working closely with them throughout their service.”
