WASHINGTON–The average rate on the 30-year mortgage took a bit of a jump last week, according to Freddie Mac.
Freddie Mac data show:
- The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage (FRM) averaged 3.96% with an average 0.6 point for the week ending July 6, 2017, up from last week when it averaged 3.88%. At the same time in 2016 the 30-year FRM averaged 3.41%
- The 15-year FRM averaged 3.22% with an average 0.5 point, up from one week earlier when it averaged 3.17%. A year ago at the same time, the 15-year FRM averaged 2.74%
- The five-year Treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM) averaged 3.21% with an average 0.5 point, up from one week earlier when it averaged 3.17%. One year earlier, the five-year ARM averaged 2.68%
