WASHINGTON–CUNA has announced that those planning to attend its annual Governmental Affairs Conference, which begins at the end of February, will need to provide proof of vaccination against the coronavirus in order to attend.
CUNA said details on how to verify vaccination status will be provided in the near future and will apply to anyone 12 or older. Attendees will also be required to wear masks inside the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, which is home to the largest annual in-person event in the U.S. credit union community.
The rules were put in place by the District of Columbia and the requirements go beyond just the convention center itself.
“Washington, D.C., recently communicated mask and vaccine requirements for indoor venues such as the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, hotels, and restaurants,” CUNA stated on its website for GAC registrations. “CUNA is actively monitoring and following the COVID-19 recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We remain in contact with event conference sites and local public health officials about proactive measures being taken to protect you.”
