HAPEVILLE, Ga.– Atlanta Postal Credit Union has broken ground on a new 100,000-square-foot headquarters on a 10.5-acre site in south Atlanta, near the intersection of I-75 and Highway 41.
According to the credit union, the new, state-of-the-art facility will provide much-needed space as it continues to grow and serve its more than 100,000 members.
The new building is being built on the former site of a Ford assembly plant that was shuttered in 2006.
The facility’s planned design features contemporary touches and member-centric spaces to facilitate a range of convenient services, as well as advanced technology to help APCU “meet the diverse needs” of its members, the $2.48-billion credit union said.
Space for Consultations
The full-service branch will offer extended hours, dedicated spaces for financial consultations, state-of-the-art ATMs, and advanced digital banking capabilities. The headquarters also will incorporate enhanced security technology, the CU said.
In keeping with the credit union’s commitment to employee development and work culture, the Atlanta Postal Credit Union headquarters design also features a dedicated training center and recreation areas and room for additions to accommodate further growth, the CU added.
‘Significant for Many Reasons’
“This groundbreaking is significant for many reasons, not just for what it means for our future, but also for how it celebrates our history and our commitment to our community,” said CEO Chuck Head. “It is our mission to help our members achieve financial success by providing exceptional products and service; it is our passion to nurture professional and personal development in our employees; and it is our honor to give back to and strengthen the communities we serve,” he added.
APCU has more than 105,000 total members.
