Associated Credit Union President Clay Franks Adds CEO to his Title

LEAGUE CITY, Texas —Clay Franks, who had been serving as president of Associated Credit Union of Texas, has now added CEO to his title, following the retirement of Jack Click.

The $534.7-million ACU said in a statement that Franks is a “highly accomplished accounting and finance professional with over 30 years in the credit union industry.”

Franks was CFO with Associated Credit Union from 2006-2022, before being appointed president.

“Clay is a seasoned credit union executive whose expertise, dedication, and enthusiasm have greatly contributed to our Credit Union’s achievements,” said Chair John Blair. “I am confident that Clay’s leadership will be indispensable as we uphold our commitment to delivering exceptional value and service to our members. Clay’s profound financial acumen and capabilities have steered ACU of Texas successfully though turbulent economic climates with remarkable competence and professionalism. His leadership promises to sustain the continued success of our financial institution.”

Prior Positions

Prior to joining ACU of Texas, Clay worked at Carbide Employees FCU, Florida Telco Credit Union (now 121 Financial, which is merging into VyStar cu), and First Florida Credit Union. During his career he has served as internal auditor, VP-accounting, controller, VP-finance and CFO.

Franks is a graduate of Victoria High School and holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Houston-Victoria.
