ALBUQUERQUE, N.M–First Financial Credit Union here is helping fans of a local soccer club follow their team on the road.
First Financial is providing a “subsidy” to New Mexico United, which plays in the United Soccer League, to create a pre-tax price of $249 that would include air fare, a game ticket, transportation to the match and a “swag bag” for fans who want to go to the July 10 U.S. Open Cup match at Minnesota United in St. Paul, Minn.
The offer followed a call for assistance on social media put out by fans. The total number of packages available has not yet been disclosed, nor has the type of aircraft fans will fly on.
A “loud throng” of fans have followed the team by bus to matches against Colorado and FC Dallas, according to the Albuquerque Journal.
