As Part of Rebranding, A Recharging (Station)

WESTBURY, N.Y.–Jovia Financial Credit Union here has installed 10 electric vehicle charging stations in the parking lot of its newly renovated headquarters here.

According to JFCU, the stations are available to the public to use for free. Recharging a vehicle does require the car owner to download the free ChargePoint app.

Jovia Financial, which was previously known as NEFCU, rolled out a new color scheme to go with its new name, as well as a new message that it is all about a “relaxed and welcoming style of banking.”

As part of its rebranding, the $3.4-billion Jovia Financial also purchased its first electric car, which is lime green and used for all messenger and delivery activities.

“We’re well on our journey to be a much ‘greener’ organization, and these charging stations not only help our cause, but also enable more Long Islanders to go green,” Renu Dalessandro, Jovia’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “Given the scarcity of electric vehicle charging stations, these chargers should be well utilized by the growing number of electric cars on Long Island.”

The credit union said it plans to review the feasibility of adding charging stations at its other 18 branches.
