COLUMBUS, Ohio –With Credit Union Youth Month now underway, CUs across the country are rolling out special promotions. Among them: Telhio Credit Union
During April, the CU is offering a special savings match program for youth accounts.
During April Telhio CU said it is supporting the “Saving for a Big Dream” with a coordinated effort it said is designed to teach children the value of savings and why having a savings account is important.
“Finding ways to support our community is a priority at Telhio. Credit Union Youth Month is a perfect program for us to help teach children and their parents the importance of savings,” said CEO Leslie Bumgarner. “This is another way that we demonstrate to our members that they are our priority, not our profits.”
According to Telhio, there will be several components to the program for children, who can visit a local Telhio branch to participate.
‘Fun & Engaging’
“Each branch will have fun, engaging activities and giveaways that underscore the importance of saving,” the credit union said. “Parents and children are also encouraged to open a youth savings account during the month of April.”
During April, Telhio will match the child’s deposit up to $25. Little Dreamers (11 and under) who enroll in Telhio’s Money Mammals Kids Club will also receive a free gift while supplies last, the CU added.
