As Impasse Continues, National Labor Relations Board Investigating TruStage Over Potential Violation

WASHINGTON--The National Labor Relations Board is investigating whether TruStage violated federal labor law as it was working to negotiate a new labor contract with its union.

As CUToday.info has reported, the union, which represents 450 company workers, has been without a contract since February of 2022 and unionized workers staged a strike before returning to work.

According to the NLRB, it found merit in the Office and Professional Employees International Union Local 39’s position that TruStage unlawfully withheld information it was required to provide the union during the collective bargaining process. It said it is still investigating four other allegations within the charge.

9 Additional Charges

The union filed the charge on which the NLRB is acting in February. In addition, there are at least nine additional unfair labor practice charges that await a decision by the NLRB, the union told the Wisconsin State Journal.

“Of the five February allegations against TruStage (part of the one charge), the NLRB is not pursuing four of them,” TruStage spokesperson Barclay Pollak told the publication, adding that the NLRB “wants more information” about one of the allegations.

“We are providing that information,” he said, according to the State Journal.

Negotiations Continue

Negotiations are continuing the parties said. The Wisconsin State Journal reported the union is organizing a march and rally at 9 a.m. July 29 on Capitol Square in downtown Madison.
