Arkansas FCU Is Certified as a CDFI

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Arkansas Federal Credit Union is reporting it has received certification as a community development financial institution from the Treasury Department.

“We are excited and proud to have earned CDFI certification. This designation will allow us to further our mission to make a difference in the financial lives of our members and communities we serve,” said Eric Mangham, executive vice president and chief financial officer. “With access to the CDFI Fund’s grant program, we will have a greater opportunity to serve and support members in underserved areas.”

Arkansas Federal noted that certified CDFIs are part of a national effort that promotes economic growth in America’s underserved communities by financing businesses, creating jobs, and rebuilding neighborhoods.

The CDFI certification allows qualified financial institutions to access federal funds to provide financial products and services in low-income communities for residents and businesses.
