Arizona State CU’s New Name Now Official

PHOENIX–The $1.8-billion Arizona State Credit Union has officially changed to a new name and brand.

The credit union is now OneAZ Credit Union, and it has retained its well-known star image as part of its new logo. Members voted on the name change in December of 2015.

In a statement to members, the credit union said it changed its “name to increase familiarity and brand awareness in our markets. The Arizona State Credit Union name was often confused with other financial institutions that use Arizona in their name.” It also emphasized to members that it has not been sold or acquired.

Arizona State said the name change is also designed to address confusion that a consumer had to either be an employee of Arizona State University or the State of Arizona in order to join.

In a press release OneAZ said the name change is part of a larger plan to double its assets over the next five years.
