Applications Being Accepted For Fed’s Community Advisory Council

WASHINGTON—Representatives of consumer and community development organizations – including credit union representatives – can now apply for membership on the Federal Reserve Board's Community Advisory Council (CAC) for terms beginning Jan. 1, 2020.

Applications are due by May 31.

The council meets semiannually with members of the Fed board to provide its perspective on economic circumstances and financial services needs of consumers and communities, with a special focus on the issues facing low- and moderate-income consumers and communities.

The CAC includes at least 15 experts and representatives of consumer and community development organizations and interests, including affordable housing, community and economic development, small business and asset and wealth building.

The Fed will announce the new appointments in the fall. Newly appointed members will serve a three-year term.
