NEW YORK—Another consumer survey, another finding that consumers are feeling significant anxiety around their finances that offers an opportunity to credit unions.
As CUToday.info has been reporting, numerous consumer polls and surveys have found people expressing worry over everything from their day to day finances to the ability to pay the rent to hopelessness over their ability to ever retire.
Now, a new survey from U.S. News & World Report shows nearly half of respondents report experiencing significant financial anxiety, with another 34% saying they feel at least a moderate amount of financial anxiety.
Other findings, according to U.S. News & World Report:
- Nearly 29% say high prices are the primary cause of their financial anxiety
- Almost 59% report that they don't have an emergency fund.
- Almost 77% believe their financial anxiety will stay the same or increase over the next year.
- Only 9.3% say they feel very confident in their financial decisions
- Almost 77% believe their financial anxiety will stay the same or increase over the next year.
