WASHINGTON—Another member of Congress who also frequently appeared before credit union audiences has announced he will not seek re-election.
Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO), a member of the House Financial Services Committee since his first election to the House in 2009, said he plans to exit Congress when his term expires.
“Luetkemeyer has consistently focused on financial and regulatory issues affecting credit unions,” America’s Credit Unions said. “Throughout his tenure, he introduced several pieces of legislation supported by the industry.”
Added America’s Credit Unions’ CEO Jim Nussle, “Rep. Luetkemeyer has been a dedicated public servant who has prioritized the needs of financial institutions, small businesses, and communities in his legislative efforts. We extend our gratitude for his longstanding support of credit unions and his willingness to work with us to strengthen the industry’s ability to improve the financial well-being of millions of Americans. We wish him and his family the best.”
