SANDESTIN, Fla. – The fintech Glide was selected as the winner of a Shark Tank-like competition held as part of the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates inaugural VISION Conference.
During the competition, three other companies in addition to Glide—CU NextGen, Illuma, and VisiFi— pitched their solutions. The session was emceed by Landon Gaines from Corporate One FCU.
The league said the companies demonstrated their “innovative value propositions” to credit union executives in an engaging format that allowed credit unions to ask questions and vote on their favorite presenter.
"Glide is honored to have been part of this exciting event and to have been selected as the winner by our peers in the credit union community,” said Glide CEO Gautam Ajjarapu. " We're excited to help Credit Unions attract the next generation of members, and we are thrilled to have the support of LSCU."
The company was also represented by CTO Vishnu Chakroborty.
Partnership With New High School
In addition to the competition, LSCU said it partnered wit Magnet Innovation Center, Walton County, Fla.’s newest high school, which provides hands-on, project-based learning opportunities. The program prioritizes programs that bolster student learning in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).
"In addition to ideating with our members and partners from across Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, it was enlightening to engage with the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators for this collaborative event,” shared Samantha Beeler, president of LSCU. “This competition showcased the incredible talent within the FinTech industry, and the importance of collaborating with Glide in bringing their groundbreaking solution to credit unions.”
