And The Latest Name Floated For NCUA Board Seat Is…

Todd Harper

WASHINGTON–A new name has surfaced as a potential appointee to the NCUA board. Former NCUA Board Member Geoff Bacino said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is considering former NCUA Public and Congressional Affairs head Todd Harper as the Democratic nominee. The seat, formerly held by Debbie Matz, would only have three years left on it.

Bacino, who has also been rumored as being under consideration to return to the board, included the prediction in his monthly newsletter, the Bacino Report.

As CUToday.info reported earlier, former NCUA board member Rodney Hood has been nominated to fill the seat currently held by Rick Metsger. If approved, Hood would join Chairman J. Mark McWatters as the second Republican on the board.

The NCUA board has not been at its full three-person compliment in nearly 30 months.
