WASHINGTON–It’s no secret that home prices are up in most of the country, and have risen in some markets much more than in others.
The National Association of Realtors said its database of median sale prices of homes across the U.S. has identified the five most expensive places to purchase a home in the country so far this year.
They are:
5. San Diego
Metro area: San Diego-Carlsbad, CA
Median price of a single-family home: $564,000
4. Honolulu
Metro area: Urban Honolulu
Median price of a single-family home: $746,000
3. Anaheim, Calif.
Metro area: Anaheim-Santa Ana-Irvine, CA
Median price of a single-family home: $750,000
2. San Francisco
Metro area: San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward, Calif.
Median price of a single-family home: $815,000
1. San Jose, Calif.
Metro area: San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, Calif.
Median price of a single-family home: $1,070,000
