MADISON, Wis. – Sixteen credit union executives have been accepted to Filene i3, which Filene describes as a “program with a legacy of fostering the development of new ideas and innovations for credit unions.”
Each i3 member serves a two-year term that kicks off at Filene’s annual big.bright.minds, which is scheduled for Austin, Texas, in December.
The Filene Research Institute, which oversees the i3 program, said it has led to more than 200 “innovative concepts” in its first decade, helping to “save consumers millions of dollars, brought new efficiency to credit unions and even changed a few laws.”
The program, which emphasizes concept innovation followed by prototype testing and implementation, is led by Andrew Downin.
“Innovation is critical to the growth of our industry. The i3 program tackles some of the most challenging problems and realities that credit unions face,” said Ryan Foss, managing director, innovation, with Filene. “The future leaders of our movement are some of the most important assets we have. By creating and prototyping solutions that meet our current and future members’ needs, i3 gives these leaders the tools to innovate and implement change efficiently and effectively.”
