CANTON, Ohio–Two Ohio credit unions are merging.
Making its last call is Canton Police & Firemen’s CU, which is merging into Community One Credit Union of Ohio. The deal has been approved by both the federal and state regulators, and by both CUs’ boards. Plans call for operations to be merged effective June 30.
The combined Community One will have more than $84 million in assets and more than 9,300 members.
Evelyn L. Canterbury, president and chief executive officer of Community One, will lead the combined organization and said in a statement that the merger is a “perfect fit” because the two credit unions have similar cultures and values.
