WENTZVILLE, Mo. — A man suspected of robbing a credit union was arrested across the street—sitting outside a police station.
According to police, Karsten Hardeman, 20, of Dayton, Ohio had been released less than an hour before from the jail in the Wentzville, Mo., police station, according to the newspaper report.
Hardeman has since been charged with escaping with $50,000 from the 1st Financial Federal Credit Union across from the police station. At the time of his arrest, police reported Hardeman was found outside the police station door and when he showed the officer his hands, $100 bills fell out of his sweatshirt pocket, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
Wentzville police also said Hardeman was an uncharged suspect in bank robberies in Kansas and Texas, according to the Post-Dispatch.
