America’s CU Museum to Launch ‘CU Women Making History—Herstory’ Exhibit; Nominations Being Sought

MANCHESTER, N.H.–America’s Credit Union Museum has announced plans to launch a  “Credit Union Women Making History – Herstory” exhibit in conjunction with its 20th anniversary in September of this year.

“Honoring the past, present and future of the incredible women making history in the credit union industry, Herstory will be an interactive exhibit showcasing inspiring stories never heard before,” the museum said.

In addition to a physical display at the museum, the exhibit will have an online presence that shares stories through virtual visits, ACUM announced.

The museum, which is housed in the building that was home to America’s first credit union, said it is encouraging everyone to consider nominating a CU Woman from the past, the present, or someone whose work today is contributing to the future of the movement.

The Details

Specifically, the museum said it is looking for:

  • Women currently working in the CU ecosystem
  • Women who have ever worked in the CU space (as a leader or in a capacity to drive change)
  • Women whose work has had a significant impact on the CU movement
  • Women who inspire, lift up, and motivate other women in the industry
  • Women who provide new opportunities for growth and development
  • The “women who are coming to your mind right now – those women who you (and others) think highly of.”
