ROME, N.Y.–AmeriCU Credit Union said it has been approved by the New York State Department of Financial Services to expand its field of membership into 15 additional counties across the North Country, Mohawk Valley, Central New York, and Cortland-Ithaca communities.
“This expansion aligns with the credit union’s mission to provide members of all means the right financial services to achieve their goals,” AmeriCU said in announcing the expansion.
According to the $2.7-billion AmeriCU, the new FOM includes close to 2.2 million people in 24 counties: Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Clinton, Cortland, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Montgomery, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, St. Lawrence, Schoharie, Seneca, Tioga, Tompkins, and Wayne.
‘More Than 160,000 Members’
“Since its establishment in 1950 at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, N.Y., AmeriCU has grown to serve more than 160,000 members,” the credit union said in a statement. “Remaining true to its core of people helping people, AmeriCU takes pride in serving the financial needs of its members through better rates, lower fees, convenient locations, robust product options, financial guidance, superior service, and community reinvestment.”
AmeriCU added it is “continuously evolving” their products and services to meet the needs of their growing membership.
