Alleged CU Robber Is Shot, Killed By Police

ORCUTT, Calif.–The suspect in the robbery of a credit union has been shot and killed by police. Police said that Robert Earl Adams, 30, was identified as the suspect in the robbery and was shot by a sheriff’s deputy after being confronted. He was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

Police alleged that Adams used a knife to rob a branch of CoastHills Credit Union in the Oak Knolls Shopping Center around 9 a.m. He fled the scene on foot, but numerous witnesses assisted the Sheriff’s Department in locating the suspect.

Police said an amount of money in Adams’ wallet matched that taken from the credit union. A knife resembling that used in the robbery was also recovered.
