ANCHORAGE, Alaska–Credit unions here met with the CFPB and its director, Richard Cordray.
The meeting also included representatives of CUNA and the Alaska CU League. The meeting was set up by Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK).
According to CUNA, the meeting focused on some familiar themes, especially the regulatory burden caused by various CFPB regulations and the need to find ways to exempt credit unions from many of those rules. CUNA said the meeting also focused on some areas of “common ground” where credit unions and the CFPB might work together.
