WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn.–After 26 years leading the organization, Robert L. Aresti, CEO of 360 Federal Credit Union, has announced he will be retiring effective Nov. 30.

In all, Aresti has spent more than 44 years in financial services, 32 of which were spent in credit unions.

Aresti joined what was named Hamilton Standard FCU as president/CEO in 1991, and has overseen growth to $230 million in assets, while also overseeing two name changes, an expanded its field of membership via a community charter, and the introduction of a number of new products and services.

“It’s hard to believe how quickly time has passed,” said Aresti. “It is bittersweet for me because every person involved with 360FCU is like a family member to me and I will miss them, but it’s also exciting to look forward to what’s next.”

Aresti is currently a Trustee of The Credit Union League of Connecticut’s Charitable Foundation and has been active with numerous local and state-wide organizations within the credit union community, during his career. He also volunteers for Junior Achievement and is a frequent speaker at local schools and for community groups to promote the importance of savings, financial literacy and the credit union difference. Aresti was named the 2011 Connecticut Credit Union Professional of the Year.

“The Board would like to thank Bob for 26 years of distinguished service to 360 Federal Credit Union,” said Board Chair Mark Angelica. “His years of experience in the industry have guided the credit union into the future.  The fact that 360 Federal Credit Union is highly respected is due in large part to his leadership.  He held himself to a standard of professionalism and calm, and consistently treated his employees with dignity and respect.   The board will miss his kindness, wisdom and professional insights.”

In addition to working part-time, Aresti said he plans to spend more time with his grandchildren as well as devote more time to music.

360 FCU said it has retained Giombetti Associates to conduct a search for the next president/CEO.
