STAMFORD, Conn./NASHVILLE—Affinion Insurance Solutions announced today the expanded availability of its Recuperative Care Plan Insurance program through credit unions in California and Florida.
Recuperative Care is a new, innovative insurance plan that provides cash benefits to an insured in the event of hospitalization due to a covered accident or sickness. The announcement was made at NAFCU’s annual conference here where Recuperative Care is a finalist for the 2016 NAFCU Innovation Award.
The Recuperative Care Insurance Plan was originally introduced by Affinion Insurance Solutions in April, 2014 and is already endorsed by almost 100 credit unions across the country, Affinion stated. The expansion of Recuperative Care Plan into California and Florida affords credit unions in those states the chance to offer valuable accident and sickness protection to the over 15 million members they represent, the company said.
“We’ve experienced an overwhelmingly positive response to the Recuperative Care Insurance Plan from both credit unions and their members who are purchasing the plans, said Robert Dudacek, president of Affinion Insurance Solutions. “The Recuperative Care Plan fills a coverage void that consumers need as it provides them with financial peace of mind when they are faced with a hospitalization. Almost 100 credit unions have already signed up to offer this program, and we’re excited to bring another Affinion product with proven marketing results to major markets such as California and Florida.”
The program offers guaranteed issue protection with no exclusion for pre-existing conditions. In addition, family coverage is also available for a spouse, covered domestic partner, or dependent child.
The Recuperative Care product expansion enhances Affinion’s suite of industry-leading insurance products, the company said. Credit unions interested in Recuperative Care Plan should contact their broker for additional information.
Dudacek said that members continue to look to their credit unions for additional products and services.
“And we know consumers face the burden of increasing healthcare costs—such as rising deductibles,” said Dudacek. “We are excited about this product because it helps fill the gap on those expenses.”
And members, too, look to their CU for trusted advice, he said.
“When the credit offers the Recuperative Care product, the member feels like the CU is looking out for them,” said Dudacek. “We know this product is a right fit for consumers—we’ve hit on a consumer need—and a right fit for credit unions, as its appeal has been fantastic from the start.”
Another reason the product is attractive, said Dudacek, is that it is straightforward.
“There is no underwriting on the product and no pre-existing conditions. It’s easy for consumers to understand and enroll in,” he said.
Dudacek added that one of the reasons Affinion is attending NAFCU’s annual meeting is to talk to credit unions.
“We are here to get feedback to learn what credit union members need and to continue to develop products like this,” he said.
