PARCHMENT, Mich.–Advia Credit Union and the Advia Foundation are making a $100 donation to Habitat for Humanity for every new mortgage application the CU receives from April 1-June 30.
“Families in need of affordable housing live everywhere,” said Julie Birman, a member of the Advia Foundation board. “At Advia we are committed to advancing lives and we believe a safe, healthy and affordable place to live helps build stronger families by reducing stress and building self-reliance and confidence for everyone living in the home.”
Advia Credit Union has 26 branches in Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois and said it will donate to Habitat organizations in each of its regions. The Foundation is estimating the total donation to be up to $25,000, which will be distributed to Habitat organizations in Southwest Michigan, Eastern Michigan, South Central Wisconsin and Northern Illinois.
In addition, Advia said its staff will be swinging hammers and pouring driveways as they support the cause by volunteering at Habitat build sites in all the credit union regions. The credit union further said it encourages staff volunteerism by paying employees to take up to 24 hours away from work each year to volunteer with a charity of their choosing.
