Advantage One Introduces New ‘Heroes Account’ Checking Product

BROWNSTOWN, Mich.– Advantage One Credit Union has introduced a new “Heroes Account,” a special checking account for active and retired military personnel, firefighters and police officers.

“This account benefits those who have dedicated their services and lives to taking care of their country and local communities,” the credit union said.

The checking package offers free standard checks, money orders and cashier’s checks, interest rate discounts on loans, free credit score monitoring service, complimentary notary service, no minimum balance requirements, no monthly maintenance fees, unlimited check writing and membership into Benefits Plus, which provides travel, dining and shopping discounts, identity theft protection, insurance discounts and much more.

In addition, account holders will receive a MasterCard debit card with rewards, earn dividends and have access to Fee-free CO-OP Network ATM’s across the country, the credit union said.

As part of a launch event, the $140-million Advantage One reported it helped raise over $600 for Victory Gym – a local non-profit organization dedicated to treating veterans with PTSD through physical activity, peer support and connection.
