WASHINGTON–Noting that entering repayment for student loans can be just as stressful and confusing to borrowers as funding a college education in the first place, Credit Union Student Choice said it will host a free national webinar to help answer common questions about student loan repayment.
The webinar will be held Sept. 14, 2016, and will be offered at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. ET. Registration is available at www.studentchoice.org/national-webinars
Led by Student Choice College Access Counselor Patricia Poplicean, the webinar will help borrowers:
- Understand repayment options while they are enrolled in school
- National student loan data (NSLDS)
- Annual credit reports
- Who is your student loan servicer?
- How to save by making full payments or interest only payments while enrolled in school
- Understand repayment options after graduation or separation from school
- Federal loan repayment options
- Private loan repayment options
- Update on the 2016-2017 FAFSA
“Helping young adults and their families make wise financial decisions regarding educational funding is of paramount importance to Student Choice and our partner credit unions,” said Melissa Hunt, Student Choice’s Chief Operations Officer. “These webinars are a free, simple way for students, college graduates, and families to get straightforward advice during stressful times in their lives.”
This is the third in a series of quarterly national webinars hosted by Poplicean; to date, more than 500 attendees have benefited from content on preparing for college and completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
