HARAHAN, La.–ASI FCU said it has entered into a partnership deal to become the “Official and Exclusive Credit Union of the New Orleans Pelicans” of the National
Basketball Association.
“We believe that ASI Federal Credit Union is an outstanding company and we are proud to call them our partners,” said Pelicans Senior Vice President of Sales Michael Stanfield in a statement. “They have a great vision to grow financial education in the Southeast region, and we are extremely excited for our future together.”
As part of the multi-year sponsorship, ASI FCU said it will become the official sponsor of the “Young Banker’s Program,” which will introduce middle and high school students at several schools to financial education materials, including budgeting, an introduction to credit and loans, and planning for the future.
Five schools have already been selected for participation in the program.
“The New Orleans Pelicans exemplify the values of our community,” stated Sonya Jarvis, president and CEO of ASI FCU. “Teamwork, integrity, service, and perseverance create the core of our organization and we are thrilled to partner with the Pelicans and their network of fans to continue the work we’ve done to financially empower our community for the past 58 years”.
ASI FCU said it will also host several in-game events and offer enter-to-win opportunities during the Pelicans’ season, including to a March 2 game against the Denver Nuggets.
