ASI FCU Announces Name Change

HARAHAN, La.– ASI Federal Credit Union has announce a name change. The $350-million CU is now called OnPath Federal Credit Union, and it has also unveiled a new logo that it says signifies its strategy to financially empower the community represented by its new tagline: “Banking with direction.”

“Credit unions have changed dramatically over the years and it is necessary for us to evolve to better meet the needs of our membership and expanding footprint,” said interim President and CEO Joey Richard. “To grow and provide our members with better service, products and opportunities, we redesigned our brand to be more inclusive of our mission, vision and the needs of our growing population.”

ASI Federal Credit Union was charted in 1961 to serve employees of Avondale Shipyard, Inc. Since then the credit union has extended its membership to over 64,000 individuals and financial products and services across Southeast Louisiana and beyond.

“We are very proud of our legacy with Avondale Shipyard Industries, Inc. and are grateful to live the credit union philosophy of people helping people,” added Richard. “We are excited for our new chapter and to live our brand promise of providing financial products and services to help our members stay on path to reaching their financial goals.”

OnPath CU has introduced a redesigned website and said an updated mobile platform will be provided soon. One thing that won’t change is the credit union’s position as the official CU of the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans.
