OXFORD, Ala.—The $434-millionAOD Federal Credit Union recently disclosed that it suffered a possible data breach that may have compromised sensitive personal data of its members, according to a NEWSWIRE release.
On Aug. 9, 2024, AOD FCU became aware of a security incident on its network. Upon detection, AODFCU launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts to determine the nature and scope of the incident, the release states.
The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party gained access to sensitive data stored in AOD FCU's systems between Aug. 8 and Aug. 9, 2024.
According to the release, AOD FCU conducted a comprehensive review of the impacted data to determine what information was compromised and identified affected individuals. On March 4, 2025, AODFCU identified persons whose sensitive data was included in the impacted data.
On March 28, AOD FCU filed a notice with the Texas Attorney General. According to that filing, the breach may have compromised members names, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, and financial information.
The CU began sending out notice letters to the impacted individuals on March 25.
