TEXAS CITY, Texas– AMOCO FCU has been approved for a field of membership expansion to serve as many as 2.49 million people.
The $1.2-billion AFCU said NCUA has OK’d the addition of a 477-census tract underserved area open to those who live, work, worship, study, or do business within one those census tracts.
According to the credit union, the wide geographical footprint extends north to south from Liberty, Texas to the shore line just south of the Justin Hurst Wildlife Management Area and east to west from High Island Beach to Mission Bend neighborhood of Houston.
“This addition gives AMOCO the opportunity to enhance the financial lives of individuals who have not had convenient access to financial institutions,” said Tina Foster, EVP-administration. “By offering education and affordable products and services, we know we can make a positive and lasting impact.”
AMOCO FCU said it enlisted CUCollaborate to assist in the FOM expansion.
