WASHINGTON–The Association of Credit Union Internal Auditors (ACUIA) said it is recognizing Internal Audit Awareness Month by asking its members to show their pride by posting pictures of audit and risk personnel on its LinkedIn page—and it is offering a potential prize for doing so.
“These can be examples of how the credit union celebrates our profession throughout the month of May,” said ACUIA Chair Tara Tocco, who is with Hughes FCU in Tucson, Ariz.
The association said for those unable to post pictures, a short summary of how the credit union is celebrating the month can be sent to Margaret Champerlain at mchamberlain at oneaz.com or Julie Wilson at Julie.wilson@iqcu.com. The credit union with the most likes will receive recognition at ACUIA’s upcoming annual conference in San Francisco from June 13-16, the association said.
A ‘Benefit to Credit Unions’
“Internal Audit Awareness Month allows for a focus on the value that internal audit provides to organizations including credit unions,” ACUIA said. “The strong governance and risk management objectives is a benefit to credit unions, its members, employees and the industry as a whole.”
ACUIA said it has more than 800 members nationally.
