ACUIA Announces Dates, Agenda For Annual Conference, One-Day Seminar

ALEXANDRIA, Va.–The Association of Credit Union Internal Auditors said it will hold its 29th Annual Conference and One Day Seminar in Denver June 18-21 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

The ACUIA said it is extending its conference offerings this year with a wealth of in-depth training sessions on audit, enterprise risk management (ERM) and Compliance during the June 18 One-Day Seminar. According to the association, the One-Day Seminar provides an outstanding way for both new and seasoned audit, risk and compliance professionals to interact and learn from subject matter experts about the latest tools, techniques and regulatory updates.

The Annual Conference, meanwhile, is the most comprehensive and beneficial professional development opportunity it offers, the ACUIA said.

Featured keynote speakers include Mountain West CU Association President & CEO Scott Earl, NCUA General Counsel Mike McKenna, and Emmy Award winning entertainer, TV personality and The Price Is Right Live host Todd Newton

Sessions will address pressing issues on fraud, cyber security, virtual currency, branch security, cannabis banking and active shooter training.

‘Taking the Lead’

“We are pleased to have a number of the leading industry professionals provide a comprehensive cross-section of educational sessions throughout the week,” said ACUIA Chairman John Gallagher. “ACUIA is fortunate to take the lead in expanding training and resources in the rapidly expanding areas of ERM and Compliance.”

Geoff Bacino, whose firm Bacino & Associates manages ACUIA, added, “The confluence of growth, professional development and influence in the Audit and ERM arenas have thrust ACUIA forward to become a key trade association within the credit union movement. If you’re an audit, ERM or compliance professional, ACUIA is an indispensable educational and networking resource.”

The conference will also include a private tour of Denver’s renowned micro-brewery scene and a culinary walking tour through the most historic neighborhood in Denver, Larimer Square, to connect with the vibrant culinary culture.
