AARP, NCUA Team On Webinar On Elder Abuse

ALEXANDRIA, Va.—NCUA is hosting a webinar on ways to detect and prevent elder financial abuse, a growing crime in America.

The agency is partnering with AARP to present the free one-hour program on June 24 at 2 p.m. ET. Titled “Avoiding Frauds and Scams: A Primer for Older Americans,” NCUA and AARP experts will discuss:

  • Examples of frauds and scams
  • Helpful prevention tips
  • Guidance about safely conducting online financial transactions
  • Information on AARP’s Fraud Watch Network initiative.

Online registration is available here. Participants will also use this link to log into the webinar. Registrants should allow pop-ups from this website. The webinar will last one hour.
