AACUC Intro’s Program to Prepare Candidates to Serve on Nonprofit Boards

SNELLVILLE, Ga.–The African American Credit Union Coalition said it has introduced a new leadership development program it said prepares rising professionals to be candidates for serving on a nonprofit board in their communities.

“We are excited to announce a new leadership development opportunity for those interested in serving as a board member of a 501c3 non-profit organization,” the AACUC said. “Our 2022 BoardReady Training Series is designed to help enhance leadership skills and prepare you to serve with impact on non-profit boards within your community.”

The program, called BoardReady, will take place over the course of eight weeks during which participants will learn the roles and responsibilities related to serving on a nonprofit board, including governance, strategic planning, fundraising, crisis communications, marketing, financial management and legal decision making, the AACUC said.

“Part of good board stewardship is the ability to raise funds for the 501c3 non-profit organization. Please note there is a financial commitment of $500 associated with the program,” the organization added, noting a $100 non-refundable deposit is due by March 23, 2022, along with the balance of $400 that is due on or before May 12, 2022.
