A Tropical Triple: CU Enhances Points Deal With New Card

MIRAMAR, Fla.– Tropical Financial Credit Union said it is upping the ante when it comes to member rewards.

The credit union has introduced the Mastercard Elite 3X Rewards Card, which features a fixed rate and triples the number of points one can earn on each purchase—no matter where it is used.

For every dollar spent, Tropical Financial said members will earn three points. Once those points add up to a certain level, they can be redeemed for travel, merchandise, or even cash back. Members can earn their coveted rewards faster than with most other credit card options, the credit union said.

“All of our research shows consumers, especially young adults, are demanding more rewards and benefits from their financial institutions,” said Amy McGraw, chief experience officer and VP of marketing. “We took that to heart by offering this new credit card to our lineup which we think is extremely competitive in the marketplace.”

Other Benefits

Tropical Financial said the other key benefit of the new Mastercard Elite 3x Rewards Card is its fixed rate.  The card has no annual fee, no balance transfer fee and a fixed APR of 17.99%. Once the rate is established, it remains locked in while the account remains active, the credit union said.

“A fixed-interest rate provides a nice safeguard and could potentially save members a lot of money,” added Richard Helber, president and CEO of Tropical Financial. “When you combine that feature with the power of three times rewards, we are helping our members improve their financial well-being which is the credit union’s primary mission.”
