A ‘Please Take Them off My Hands’ Loan. A Website Scavenger Hunt. And More CU Marketing Efforts

AURORA, Colo.–While the economy is lagging as a result of coronavirus pandemic, credit unions continue to roll out some interesting marketing efforts.

Among them:

  • In Aurora, Colo., FITZSIMMONS Credit Union has introduced a new website and with it a website scavenger hunt. Members are being encouraged to visit the new  www.FitzsimonsCU.com and to look for the pictured Fitzsimons icon. Those who find the icon can then click on it and enter their information to win a $50 gift card to WhichWich. Participants then also receive an entry to win a $200 VISA gift card. Members are being given clues such as, “Give us a ring or send us an email. No matter which one you choose, we are here for you. Learn more about the friendly team that can help with it all.”
  • In Augusta, Ga., Health Center Credit Union is promoting its back-to-school loan as the “Please Take Them off My Hands” loan, a message certain to resonate with parents who have had kids at home due to school closings from the coronavirus pandemic.

“Sometimes it’s not financially possible to pay upfront for expenses such as home repairs, a special event, medical bills, auto repairs, and other unexpected one-time costs or major expenses,” copy reads. “In circumstances like these, a personal loan can help you cover these costs.  A personal Loan can also make it easier to fit major purchases into your budget, such as new appliances or furniture.”

  • In Wyomissing, Penn., Riverfront FCU has launched “Riverfront Live,” a live video chat service that will be available in-branch and in the near future will also be accessible via a laptop or mobile device. According to the credit union, the new service will allow members to bank face-to-face at a safe distance with a Riverfront service representative in real time from anywhere. Members will be able to open accounts, add new services, apply for a loan or mortgage, set up automatic payments, and much more, Riverfront FCU said.
