MEMPHIS—It isn’t just credit unions that are striking an increasing number of deals with athletes and sports teams: a local bank has put former NBA star and local coach Penny Hardaway on a debit card.
First Tennessee Bank here unveiled a new Visa debit card featuring the former NBA superstar.
First Tennessee is also donating $15,000 to the Penny Hardaway Basketball Camp, which gives kids ages 8-17 a chance to learn skills from Hardaway and other former and current Memphis Tigers, where Hardaway starred in college. He is now head coach of the men’s basketball team. The donation will help reduce the cost of the camp for its participants.
