SYRACUSE, N.Y. –Empower FCU has named a new president and CEO effective Jan. 3. The $3-billion Empower has named Ryan McIntyre to lead the organization.
McIntyre is joining Empower FCU from VyStar Credit Union in Jacksonville, Fla., where he has been chief strategy officer and has led strategic and business planning, corporate development and integration, enterprise PMO, process improvement, business insights, and advanced analytics.
According to Empower, as a senior leadership team member, McIntyre contributed to VyStar's growth to $13 billion in assets from $7 billion.
Prior to joining VyStar, McIntyre held various leadership roles over his 15 years at Regions Bank, most recently as senior vice president, Jacksonville city president.

Education & Background
McIntyre has a Masters of Management from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. Since 2019, he has served on the board of Downtown Vision Inc., a not-for-profit organization created to support a vibrant downtown Jacksonville and promote downtown as an exciting place to live, work, visit and invest.
