OVERLAND PARK, Kan.–Eight credit union leagues and associations in the Midwest have joined forces to host an “innovation conference” in April that is open to all credit unions and is designed to “identify solutions that will power growth” at CUs.
The event, called “Ctrl+Alt+Innovate,” will be held virtually and will feature demonstrations and panel discussions from six technology companies, three “tech talk” breakouts and a keynote session.
The meeting is being jointly hosted by the Dakota Credit Union Association, Illinois Credit Union League, Iowa Credit Union League, Heartland Credit Union Association, Minnesota Credit Union Network, Montana’s Credit Unions, Nebraska Credit Union League, and Wisconsin Credit Union League.
It has received support from Alloya Corporate, Corporate Central, CUNA Mutual Group, and Millennium Corporate.
The Demonstrations
According to organizers, more than two dozen innovative companies applied to be part of the event. A panel of 16 credit union professionals representing the eight associations reviewed applications, with companies selected based on a variety of criteria including originality, innovation, impact, compatibility, and the “wow” factor, the eight associations said.
Presentations will be made by:
- CuneXus, which offers an on-demand lending platform delivering a personalized experience
- DocFox, an automated account-opening solution
- Eltropy, a text messaging solution that boosts member engagement
- Illuma Labs, a provider of real-time voice authentication and fraud prevention
- Posh, a solution for routine contact center FAQs answered by AI messaging bots and interactive voice response (IVR)
- Upstart, a provider of a lending solution powered by AI
Erin Coleman, Filene's senior director of advisory services, will moderate the panel discussions.
Keynote and Tech Talks
Patrick Schwerdtfeger will provide insight into disruptive innovation and technology trends like artificial intelligence and blockchain during the opening keynote session, the associations said.
Organizers said the Tech Talks will be presented by leaders from popular brands (including PayPal) and will cover topics such as strategies for humanizing banking, data insights, trends in investing, and the future of work.
