YORK, Penn.–Two more Pennsylvania credit unions here are merging.
Members of the $5-million West York Area School District Employees FCU members have voted in favor of merging into the $223-million First Capital Credit Union.
West York Area School District Employees FCU was established in 1965. The credit union said in a statement the time had come for its staff to retire.
“We are excited to be part of the First Capital family,” said WYASDEFCU Chairman Craig Smith. “The merger with First Capital will ensure that our members receive access to a wider range of products, services, and benefits.”
“First Capital is honored to welcome West York Area School District Employees FCU members,” said First Capital President/CEO Sue DeStephano, president/CEO. “We have had such a great relationship with West York Area School District over the years; we are thrilled about this merger.”
The merger is expected to be complete on July 1.
The merger is the second in the York market in approximately a week. Earlier, White Rose Credit Union said it is absorbing Local 229 IBEW FCU in a merger.
