VIENNA, VA. — Seventeen credit unions, along with 15 banks, have been recognized for their extraordinary efforts to encourage their members to save money during America Saves Week and Military Saves Week. Five military-affiliated organizations from around the world were also recognized.
Among the credit unions honored was Navy Federal.

Navy Federal has always been committed to offering tools and resources for all types of savers,” said Joan Cox, SVP-savings products with Navy Federal. “Whether it’s through financial education, great rates or products designed to help our members save automatically or for a specific purpose, we want our members to build healthy financial habits and meet their goals.

The five military programs honored were:

- Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.: Airman & Family Readiness Center Personal Finance Readiness
- Naval Base San Diego, Calif.: Fleet & Family Support Center
- Tinker Air Force Base, Okla.: Youth program
- Travis Air Force Base, Calif.: Base & Family Readiness Center
