BETHPAGE, N.Y.–Fourteen members of Bethpage FCU here will be shown some surprise love today. The credit union said for Valentine’s Day the lucky members will receive flowers, balloons and a $150 Mastercard gift card to make the day special.
Bethpage FCU said its representatives will be showing up with a gift card blown up to resemble a Publishers Clearing House-style big check, and photos and videos of the gift presentations will be shown on the credit union’s social media with the members’ consent.
Entitled “Share the Love,” the promotion is “in keeping with the theme that we want to show our members that we care about them,” said Michelle Traynor, corporate communications coordinator for Bethpage, in a statement.
The 14 winners were chosen from all Bethpage members age 18 and over. They were told that they would be receiving a visit and a prize (to ensure they would be home) but were not given further details, the credit union said.
In 2016 Bethpage also staged a Valentine’s Day promotion in which members and non-members who followed the credit union on Facebook were invited to submit love letters to a special person in their lives. A few letter-writers were chosen at random to receive prizes similar to this year’s offerings, but Bethpage “wanted to change it up this year,” Traynor said. “We wanted to show our members that we appreciate their loyalty.”
