1 Person Dead, 2 Apprehended Following CU Robbery

PHOENIX—One man is dead and two others have been apprehended following a robbery of an office of Credit Union West here.

The suspect was killed by police gunfire following a high-speed chase after the three alleged robbers fled the credit union, located on 137th Avenue and Van Buren, AZfamily.com reported.

The man killed was Steve Del Rio, who was recently released from prison for armed robbery. The fatal shooting occurred miles away from the credit union. No one at the credit union was injured. The report did not disclose how much money was stolen.

Following the robbery the crooks fired shots at officers and then fled in a black SUV, AZfamily.com reported. Police pursued.

During the chase two of the crooks bailed out of the SUV, leaving Del Rio behind the wheel. The two men were apprehended shortly afterward, the website stated.

Police eventually boxed in the SUV, and then at that point shots were fired. The suspect was killed on the scene, police stated.
