SAN FRANCISCO—At its Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco here yesterday, Apple announced several developments related to Apple Pay.
While much of the discussion was around the next version of OSX (to be called OS X El Capitan), new developments in voice search and a new music streaming service, Apple also announced that Square's next card reader, used by numerous small businesses, will accept Apple Pay.
In addition, the Apple Passbook app is being renamed Wallet, and will support retail loyalty cards.
