WASHINGTON–Ahead of a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee hearing, lawmakers were reminded by NAFCU of what are being called adverse effects of some of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

WASHINGTON—Eleven trade associations, including NAFCU and CUNA, are urging members of the House to cosponsor legislation that would clarify the definition of points and fees under the Truth in Lending Act (TILA) as applied through the CFPB’s qualified mortgage rule.

WASHINGTON–The Senate has voted in favor of killing the CFPB’s ban on arbitration clauses in financial contracts, which would have allowed class action suits against financial institutions instead of requiring that disputes go to private arbitration.
